I want to share with you one of my favorite largemouth bass fishing tips. I have been fishing for many years and when I learned this proven technique it made all the difference in my bass fishing results. I consider myself mostly a fly fisherman and I primarily go after trout. But I live in an area where there are far more lakes and ponds full of bass and the nearest good trout streams require a bit of a drive. I had always wanted to catch more largemouth bass. One day I was talking to my friend Joe and he shared his favorite largemouth bass fishing tip with me and from then on I started catching bass like crazy.

Many people had be telling me to use purple or blue rubber worms (sometimes referred to plastic worms). I had been using them but with little success. My buddy suggested these for bait but it was the way I was fishing them that made all the difference. I had used various types of weights and even bought some pre-rigged worms with dual hooks, Still no luck. This was not the way to go.

What I learned was a variation of the Carolina rig. I generally use Gamakatsu offset shank worm hooks in size 2 or 3 and 6 to 7.5 worms. My favorite are two tone Culprits. Take the point of the hook and stick it straight into the head end of the rubber worm. Slid it down about three quarters of an inch and then out the side. Now slide the hook down to where the eyelet is the only part exposed at the head. Take the point of the hook stick it into the side of the worm and have it almost coming out the other side. You want it to be in the bait so you can fish it in a weedless fashion. When a fish bites and you set the hook the point becomes exposed and hooks the fish.

You want to fish this with no weight or swivel of any kind. Just tie your line to the hook. Be sure to trim it so there is no tag line hanging off. Even with no weight you will cast fine. I usually use 6 or 8 pound test line. Cast to a fishy looking spot, let it site briefly and retrieve slowly.

Now almost all my bass angling is with this largemouth bass fishing tip and I catch tons of fish. Do not be afraid to cast into vegetation such as lily pads and other weeds. Fish love cover so that is where they will be hiding. Since you are rigged to be weedless you will seldom have a problem but you will often catch bass!

If you are aware of the latest equipment you could use, you can perhaps make the most of it with your experience as a bass hunter. Sometimes a bass fishing tip will save you a lot of bother. Yu may be out looking for a spot to fish and come up against a person who has visited a spot where the fish are "biting" as they say. Instead of looking for a sot yourself you have been presented with one through ha tip from another angler who has successfully been fishing those waters.

Reading fishing tips written by the more experienced of fishermen can save you a lot of bother and money too. These tips will enable you to choose the best fishing tackle and lure as well as save you time by educating you on the best spots for you to fish for bass. Fishing tips from the gurus can prevent you making many mistakes and make a success of your favorite pastime.

One of the very first things that a beginning bass angler should do is pick the right bass fishing rods for his needs. Not all beginner bass anglers know exactly how to do it. Bait casting Or Spinning Rod?

Bait casting Reel:
Once you have determined which type of rod you would want to use, you now need to pick a particular type of reel for your tackle. Bear in mind that since your tackle is a combination of different working parts, then simply choosing the rod won't be enough, but it is definitely the start. If you choose to use a bait casting rod, then it would be a great idea to use a bait casting reel. This particular type of reel actually poses a lot of difficulty for most bass anglers in trying to cast it successfully, mainly because of the revolving spool that this particular type of reel has. Casting it the wrong way could get you to backlash on your casting attempt.

Spinning Reel:
If you choose a spinning rod, then a spinning reel is probably one of the best choices of reel for you. As the name implies, when you cast using a spinning reel, the pickup bail basically revolves around a fixed spool that is attached to a housing device as the handle of the tackle is turned. Since the spool revolves up and down around the housing device, the line is distributed evenly from the reel, reducing the chances of back lashing and bird nesting.

Rod Length, Sensitivity And Strength:
Another factor about the rods that could affect how you use it and what you use it for has something to do with the length of the rods, its sensitivity and strength. If you plan on using the rod for taking on a larger-sized bass fish, then you might want to use a rod that has a medium to high power so that you can handle the bass fish with relative ease. If plan on using a lure that requires a fairly sensitive line, then you should probably pick a rod that is high on sensitivity with a stiff tip.

Kind Of Bait:
The kind of bait you intend to use will also have an influence on the type of fishing rod that you want to use. Since there are a lot of different kinds of lures available in the market today, buying a general purpose rod might just be the solution. If you really want to be more specific on the type of handling and performance that you want your rod to be able to do, then choose a more technique specific rod.

Price:
One of the more important things that you should not forget is the prices of the bass fishing rods you are considering. If you do not have the money to purchase a rod that you want, simply opt to buy the next best thing, as long as it is within your price range.

Well the pole is not always accurate. It is just like fishing line... we used 45 pound test line and pulled in a 130 pound tuna
